The synoptic rule requirements in all GCE Mathematics qualifications have been relaxed by removing the requirement for the synoptic units to be taken together and at the end of the course.
Candidates thus must still sit one of the A level synoptic pairs of units listed on page 14 of the specification but they may now sit these units individually and they may sit them at any stage in the course.
