What are the key features?
Content
Within MathsZone there is a bank of digital, interactive learning materials for students and teachers to search and browse. These materials support the Edexcel GCSE Mathematics syllabus at foundation and higher levels.
Communities
As members of this online maths community, students and teachers can interact with one another in a number of maths communities which are managed by the team of eMentors. These communities contain a discussion forum, an online poll and a news feed. Discussion forums are a great way for students to discuss a topic, access support (from their teachers, eMentors and their peers) and enhance their learning.
In addition to the maths communities, each school can have its own community lead by its teachers and there are general communities to support hobbies/interests.
eMentors
A team of human eMentors is on hand to offer advice, guidance and support from 8am to 8pm weekdays. Individual subscribers can contact the eMentors in real time through the ‘live’ mentoring service. School users (students and teachers) can contact the eMentors through the messaging system.
Customisation
Users can change the layout of their homepage, choose a ‘theme’ for their MathsZone and sign up to email alerts.
When is this available?
