Accreditation Activities
What is accreditation?
Accreditation is the process through which Programme Leaders/ Department Heads achieve recognition as accurate assessors, meaning that they are able to award marks for coursework/portfolio components without being subject to external moderation by the Awarding Body.
What is OSCA?
OSCA (Online Support for Centre-Assessors) is the Edexcel system which facilitates accreditation. It allows centres to develop understanding, receive feedback and demonstrate their ability to assess accurately. Successful participation in OSCA activities enables Programme Leaders*/Department Heads to become accredited.
*The ‘Programme Leader’ is defined as the individual with overall responsibility for the delivery of the portfolio assessment.
Which Qualifications offer OSCA?
Accreditation is currently available for DiDA and GCE’s in Applied Subjects.
