This outstanding HND student - Silvio Petrasso has, according to his tutor Lynne Jalalian, always been focused on his goal of becoming an Environmental Health Officer, to the extent that he rises at 4.30am in order to undertake his outside business duties before attending university.

A strong academic achiever and popular with his peers and staff alike, he successfully completed an HND Environmental Health has now progressed to the BSc Environmental Health degree at Middlesex University.  Progression onto a degree is the one of the key strengths of the BTEC Higher national qualifications.

Silvio has already used the skills he learnt on the HND to good effect in his work on a 'sick building' project and his tutors bear testimony to his excellent management and communication skills.

He cites the many hurdles he had to overcome to fulfil his educational and career ambitions having returned to learning as a mature adult and father of two.
