BTEC WorkSkills: Getting Started, Planning and Delivery
Free regional training events
As part of the WorkSkills quality assurance process for this year, all approved WorkSkills centres will be given a free training session around the planning, delivery and assessment of the WorkSkills qualifications. This training is compulsory for all approved centres and the lead internal verifier from each centre must attend. It is important to note that a centre will only be able to claim certificates if the lead verifier has attended one of these training sessions. These events are restricted to one event per centre.
Delegates will:
- Discuss the rationale and structure of the qualifications
- Consider effective assignment writing
- Promote and share good practice
- Consider planning issues and assessment requirements
- Look at assessing learner work
- Explore the quality assurance processes
The compulsory training will be divided into three different categories:
1. Schools and colleges new to BTEC or centres starting the second year of BTEC delivery: The training will comprise a full day session on delivery, assessment and quality assurance procedures. On gaining approval, centres will automatically be notified of the next event dates and the joining instructions.
2. BTEC centres with at least two years BTEC delivery experience: The training will comprise a half day session on delivery, assessment and quality assurance procedures. On gaining approval, centres will automatically be notified of the next event dates and the joining instructions.
3. New Training Providers and Employers: An allocated standards verifier will contact you to arrange a visit to validate your approval and deliver a compulsory training session around planning, delivery, assessment and quality assurance.
