Background

This vocational qualification from Edexcel has been developed to enhance customer service and driving standards for the passenger transport industry.

This NVQ reflects current legislation and codes of practice produced by Go Skills, the Sector Skills Council for Passenger Transport.

Who should take this qualification?

All passenger transport drivers, whose role demands high standards in driving and customer service, will benefit from this qualification.

The qualification can be incorporated into the induction programe for new drivers or be used to validate and build upon the existing knowledge of experienced drivers.

The BTEC Award also provides the knowledge required by those who wish to progress to this competence-based NVQ.

Edexcel Level 2 NVQ

The NVQ requires learners to be assessed on the job and to produce a portfolio of evidence.  Learners must complete three mandatory units plus five optional units; the options depend on the nature of the learner’s job role.  They must also complete an external assessment multi-choice question paper set by Edexcel.  Learners who have achieved the Edexcel Level 2 BTEC Award will be exempt from the NVQ external test.
