Qualifications : BTEC Introductory

Notice

The importance of using the correct, official BTEC specifications  (06/01/2004)

It is vitally important that centres use the final, authorised specification and have written approval from Edexcel before teaching or assessing any BTEC qualification.

Prior to accreditation and until the definitive, Final Specification is published on our website (and subsequently published also in printed format), we place a pre-accreditation draft specification on the relevant qualification page. These are clearly marked as Draft Specifications, and must not be used for teaching or assessment purposes.

During the accreditation process changes can take place to content, unit titles, assessment requirements and more, based on feedback from the regulator and for other reasons. It has come to our notice, through sampling being undertaken by Edexcel External Verifiers, that some centres are using incorrect, unofficial specifications or do not have written authority from Edexcel to offer specific BTEC qualifications.

Please make certain that you are utilising the correct specification and have the required approval to operate the programme from Edexcel.
