A new series of textbooks and CD-roms, 'Chinese for GCSE', has been devised by the China National Office for Teaching Chinese as a Foreign Language (Han Ban) in conjunction with the British Council. The development of these materials (which are mapped to the latest Edexcel GCSE Chinese specification) and their piloting in some schools have been financed through the DfES.
