Opportunities to develop and generate evidence for Key Skills assessment in AS/A teaching are maximised without distorting the integrity of the subject. Key Skills opportunities are clearly sign-posted in every specification.

No - they can do, but they don’t have to. The 6 units which make up the full Advanced GCE can be taken in stages, or can be taken all together at the end of the course. Possible patterns of entry are demonstrated in the specifications.

Yes. Edexcel are obliged to collect estimated grades for both modular “cash-in” subjects and individual modules.

Centres are not required to submit estimated grades for any candidate whose grade cannot be predicted accurately. This includes “Guest” candidates.

Yes - candidates will have an opportunity to retake any unit, in which they feel they may be able to perform better. The better result will count towards the final award. The shelf-life of units, before they are ‘cashed in’ for the certification of the qualification, is limited only by the life of the specification
