The following work must be submitted on tape, CD or minidisk as outlined in the Unit 1 section of the Teachers’ Guide. The quality of the recording is of the utmost importance.
- Paper 11: One or more Solo Performance(s) lasting between 5 and 6 minutes.
- Paper 12: A folio of compositions logged on the MAS1 form. The logged solo performance must be recorded and submitted for moderation purposes.

It must be a balanced program. The ethos behind this is to prevent candidates from solely presenting their graded examination pieces. Any unbalanced programmes must be justified in the programme notes.
Yes, candidates may have access to any instrument appropriate to their chosen exercise.
Yes – Sibelius will show candidates where consecutive 5ths are; it does not demonstrate how to rectify them. This is not thought to benefit candidates greatly.
