See update: New GCE 2008 Specification: Welsh Language Version (21/07/2008)

Edexcel will not be offering a Welsh language version of the new GCE 2008 Music Technology specification for first teaching in September 2008.*

We are keen ensure that our GCE provision is of the highest academic quality, our quality assurance procedures are rigorous and our teacher & student support materials are valuable. Unfortunately, owing to the very low take up of the Welsh language option during the lifetime of the current specification, the lack of bilingual examiners, markers and writers, we are not able to support the Welsh language version of the specification to the same high standards as our other GCE subjects. We have therefore decided not to offer a Welsh language version of the new GCE Music Technology specification.

The 2008 GCE Music Technology specification will still be available but in English only. The last opportunity to certificate learners on the existing specification is June 2009 with a re-sit opportunity for units 4-6 in January 2010.
