Qualifications : ESOL (Skills for Life)

ESOL (Skills for Life) Level 1

Candidates at Level 1 are tested for each of the modes, speaking and listening, reading and writing with a separate test.  They can achieve unit accreditation for each mode. Assessment for speaking + listening and writing via a paper-based test, which can be taken on demand when the learner is ready for assessment.

The Adult literacy national test assesses the reading mode.  If this is taken onscreen this is available on demand. if it is taken as a paperbased test, it is available monthly. Please refer to the Adult Literacy + Numaracy section in the information manual for more information. There is no portfolio requirement.
