Qualifications : Adult ICT (Skills for life)
In this section
Adult ICT (Skills for life)Until recently the term Skills for Life was assumed to cover only the skills of literacy and numeracy but the need for ICT as the third basic skill was recognised. Therefore the Adult ICT (Skills for life) National Standards and Core Curriculum were introduced to support those already in place for Adult literacy and numeracy. The Edexcel qualifications based on these standards will be available at Entry 1, 2 and 3 for teaching from September 2006. The qualifications are suitable for learners in both traditional FE and adult community colleges, those who are supported in the workplace and school age learners. The qualifications have been designed to be flexible so that they can be integrated into other learning. The assessment is built on an achievement model designed to support confidence and support achievement. Edexcel will not be offering Adult ICT at levels 1 and 2. It is recommended that learners progressing from the Entry level qualification take the Award in Digital Applications. For details of this qualification click here. |
