Email alerts
Our email alerts service will keep you informed of new information on the Edexcel Website. Each alert message will list new or recently-revised items from your chosen section of the website with links to view each one in full. You can sign up to receive email alerts on as many topics as you wish and you can unsubscribe at any time. The service is free of charge.
Step One: Select a topic
To start receiving alerts on a topic of interest to you, visit the relevant area of our website and use the ‘Get email alerts for this topic’ link.

You can control the breadth of information covered by an alert through the level at which you subscribe. An email alert can encompass a large number of web pages, such as the entire GCE section within the Qualifications area, or it can be set at a much lower level, such as a particular subject/course in the qualifications area (e.g. Advanced VCE in Information & Communication Technology). The ‘higher’ the level on the site at which you subscribe, the more updates you are likely to receive.
Step Two: Create an account (or sign in if an existing user)
Once you select the ‘Get email alerts for this topic’ link on the appropriate page, you will be transferred to an email alerts log-in page.
If you are signing up for your first email alert and you do not have an Edexcel Online account, you will be asked to ‘register as a first-time user’. To create your account, you will need to input your name, email address and job role and enter a password of your choice.
Once you have completed the subscription process, check your email inbox for a confirmation message. You will need to click on the web link in this email to activate your account before you can receive any email alerts.
If you already have an Edexcel Online account or have signed up for email alerts before, you do not need to go through this process. Simply sign in by entering your email address and password on the log-in page.
Step Three: Choose the alert frequency
Before completing each alert subscription, you need to select how frequently you receive that particular email alert. The options are daily, weekly or monthly.

If you choose ‘daily’, you will receive an email within 24 hours of any changes being made to that area. It is important to note that this does not mean that you will be sent an email every day; if no changes are made within a 24-hour period, you will not be sent an email.
Selecting ‘weekly’ or ‘monthly’ means that you will receive a single email at the end of that time period with a digest of all changes made since your last alert. Again, you will only receive a new alert if at least one relevant change has been made.
Whichever frequency you choose, you should receive an initial email alert within a few minutes of subscribing. As this is your first alert for that topic, it is likely to list some older changes. Subsequent alerts will only include changes made since you last received an email alert for that topic.
Managing your account
Through your email alerts account page you can change how often you receive specific email alerts, unsubscribe from them altogether or update your personal details.
To sign in to your account, visit: http://alerts.edexcel.org.uk or www.edexcel.org.uk/alerts. You can also access this page by following the ‘My alerts’ link on any page containing the email alert links or at the foot of our email alerts.
The options listed under ‘My account settings’ allow you to update your personal details (your name, job role and centre number), transfer your account to a new email address or change your password.
Further down the page, under ‘My email alerts’, you will find a list of the alert topics that you are subscribed to. You can alter the frequency of any alert by simply clicking on the frequency setting you prefer in the row of links that appear immediately below the topic name. For example, in the case below, the alert frequency is currently set to ‘weekly’.

By clicking on the link ‘daily’, the setting will be changed with immediate effect. The page will refresh to display the new setting.
To unsubscribe from any alert topics in the list, select the alert you no longer wish to receive (by ticking the adjacent checkbox) and click ‘Unsubscribe from selected alerts’.
