20/03/2008    Your chance to improve in economics

On Thursday 24 June 2008 Cheltenham Ladies College will be running a one-day revision conference for second year A level (A2) Economics students and their teachers.  The conference is exam specific and aims to improve performance under the guidance of Edexcel senior examiners.

Economics4u.co.uk is offering the conference, supported by the college.  It will run from 11am to 4:15pm.  The day will be led by Edexcel Chief Examiner Quintin Brewer, and an address will be made by Rob Chote, Director of the Institute of Fiscal Studies.

The focus of the day will be on units 5 and 6.  However, there will be a session on unit 4 at the end of the day.  The primary aim is to update student knowledge through intensive revision, covering both content issues and exam technique.

Also providing support at the conference will be Paul Bullen-Smith, Examiner and Head of Economics at Perse Girls’ School and Rachel Cole, Principal Examiner for Edexcel and Economics teacher at The Cheltenham Ladies College.

The cost is £5 per head which will include practice materials and speakers’ notes.
