27/03/2008    Edexcel takes the reigns at Getenergy2008

26-28 March, Business Design Centre, London

International educational services company Edexcel is sponsoring Getenergy2008 in a bid to up the anti in the quality of learning and development across the oil & gas sector (O&G).

Getenergy2008 is an international exhibition with networking events, ministerial debates, and industry forums that attracts delegates with an interest in learning and development within the O&G sector.

In 2007 Edexcel conducted independent research into learning and development in the O&G sector and found that across the six major oil producing regions, employers operating in the sector were reporting a significant gap between the skills they need and those offered by potential or existing employees.  As a result, oil and gas employers are having to invest more into the training and development of new recruits and existing employees in order to have an effective and productive workforce.

At Getenergy2008, Edexcel will be offering expert advice to delegates about how they can audit and assess the effectiveness of their internal learning and development programmes against international benchmarks to identify training and skills gaps, and then how they can bridge these gaps with customised qualifications.  By identifying and addressing any skills or training gaps, organisations in O&G will be in a better position to meet the attraction and retention challenges facing their sector.

You can visit the Edexcel at stand 6A or visit http://www.getenergyevent.com/Welcome for further information.
