Tim Williams, Human Resources Director at the awarding body Edexcel, now features in a new series of adverts stressing the importance of continuous training and learning for any modern business.
The series, which depicts real people who have benefited from training with Edexcel, includes a police officer, a security supervisor and a member of the Ambulance Service who all know the value of, and have gained from, doing tailor-made qualifications or courses.
Tim is aware of how important keeping up to date is. The ever changing environment of the office calls for dynamism and a willingness to learn. He says, “As HR Director I know that the workplace is increasingly challenging for HR personnel. Fast technologies and methodologies mean that giving your people cutting edge training is essential.”
This training benefits the individual as well as the business. Tim adds the aim of training is “to identify what your staff need to move the organisation and their careers forward.” It is about setting up frameworks where “learning becomes a pleasure.” This is a valuable asset if one is to make work based learning attractive to employees.
It’s expected that using real workers in ordinary but indispensable jobs will draw attention to the advantages and importance of continuous learning, no matter what the age or position within the company a person holds.
