Edexcel is the first awarding body to offer an on-screen version of entry level 3 qualifications in numeracy and a reading test for literacy. The launch of the new tests are in line with the Government’s agenda to raise adult skills levels.

Edexcel has this week launched Safe Learner, a brand new programme developed to provide students undertaking a work placement with the knowledge and understanding of potential risks and hazards in their workplace.

Edexcel were the proud sponsors of Mid-Kent college’s annual staff awards ceremony held at the college’s Oakwood Park centre at the end of March 2008. The awards recognised staff achievements and successes across the college.

The Helena Kennedy Foundation (HKF) hosted an event on 26 March 2008, sponsored by Edexcel.  Friends and partners gathered at the House of Lords to recognise HKF's work in offering second-chance education.

International educational services company Edexcel is sponsoring Getenergy2008 in a bid to up the anti in the quality of learning and development across the oil & gas sector (O&G). 

On Thursday 24 June 2008 Cheltenham Ladies College will be running a one-day revision conference for second year A level (A2) Economics students and their teachers.  The conference is exam specific and aims to improve performance under the guidance of Edexcel senior examiners. 

A new work-based training scheme is being launched for the NHS this month to increase the motivation of health workers to train and reduce the skills gap reported by 1 in 5 health organisations.


Rugby School, in conjunction with Edexcel, is holding a conference exploring ways of implementing the new Edexcel Extended Project Qualification, drawing on the model of the ‘Perspectives on Science’ course. 

The IT training awards took place in February 2008 at the Dorchester Hotel in London.  The awards recognised those who have made extraordinary contributions to advancing computer skills across all sectors.

Claire Tinker is a paramedic with the London Ambulance Service, who has managed to find time, outside the demands of her role, to take part in a new series of adverts for the awarding body Edexcel.

Amanda Garnham is an assessment centre manager for Swindon Borough Council, and currently features in a new series of adverts for the awarding body Edexcel.


Chichester College has won this year’s Edexcel ‘Lifelong Learning Award’, one of the Association of Colleges’ Beacon Awards.

Edexcel welcomed QCA's report on summer 2007 examinations on 12 February and the publication of the Enquiry About Results (EAR) data. We are particularly pleased to note that Edexcel's marking performance has once again improved in quality.

Edexcel believes over 250,000 students will register to receive their GCSE and A level results online this summer. Last year Edexcel launched ResultsPlus, a free system which shows how students performed in their Edexcel exams, providing question-by-question detail. Over 100,000 students took advantage of this last year and you can see below their response whilst getting their results.

Agriculture, horticulture and animal care vocational courses at Nottingham Trent University are providing students with the relevant skills to meet industry needs according to Ofsted's post-16 good practice survey reports.

A college construction team has received congratulations from parts of the building industry who have begun taking part in their work placement scheme.  The scheme gives pupils the opportunity to work alongside some of the biggest construction companies in the south east.

On Friday 18 January Edexcel will be organising a one day event as part of this year’s GCSE Poetry Live! This is available for all schools taking Edexcel English 1203/1204 or English literature 1213. The primary aim is to inspire students and improve literacy skills.

Edexcel will have a large presence at 2008 BETT - the world’s biggest educational technology event, held in London between 9th and 12th January.
