18/07/07    Spaced Out astronomy garden wins gold at Tatton Park!

The Spaced Out astronomy garden has won a gold medal at the Royal Horticultural Society’s Tatton Park today.

Edexcel is very proud to be a sponsor for the garden, which was designed by award winning horticulturist Ann Picot - wife of Edexcel's chief examiner for Astronomy - Dr Nigel Marshall.

The garden celebrates the 50th anniversary of the space age and was opened by Lucie Green - a presenter on TV astronomy programme, Stargate.

Astronomy is just one of the qualifications available for students to take as part of Edexcel's diverse 360Science portfolio, which also includes GCSE, AS/A Level and BTEC qualifications, and the exciting Perspectives on Science which has been generating some interesting accolades from those who teach science.  The BTEC suite also includes an internationally recognised range of horticultural qualifications.

Edexcel offers its sincere congratulations to the team.
