12/12/2007    BTEC student reaches highest rank achievable

Promoted to the highest cadet rank achievable, Kayleigh Fenton, 18 from Clacton, is the first female Regimental Sergeant Major in the history of Essex Army Cadet Force.

Amongst her phenomenal amount of achievements, she was recently appointed a Master Cadet, is currently one of the Lord Lieutenant's Cadets and has passed her Silver Duke of Edinburgh’s Award, as well as successfully completing her Senior Cadet Instructor's Course, Cadet Leadership and Advanced Signals Instructor's Courses with the Regular Army.  She has also recently completed her BTEC First Diploma in Public Services, to distinction level.
