BT Operate has announced that 83 apprentices have recently begun a three-year development programme with the company.

The programme is designed to turn the newcomers into fully competent technicians in IT, field, power, planning and network controls.

Apprentice lead for BT Operate, Jerry Comber, said that the intake consisted of a mix of higher and advanced apprentices. Those in the advanced category complete a two to three-year programme around a BTEC college course in a telecommunications subject.
