Edexcel has announced an increase in funding for its BTEC National Certificates. The increase, which was confirmed by the Learning and Skills Council, will see funding rise by nearly £2,000 to £4405.14. The changes start with immediate effect and will bring funding for the BTEC National Certificate into line with other 12 unit National Qualification Framework qualifications such as AVCEs.
BTEC National Certificates are part of the BTEC suite, which provides vocational qualifications from entry level right through to sub degree Higher Nationals. They can be taken full or part time, are at the same standard as A levels and provide students with the knowledge and skills needed in employment or to progress to a BTEC Higher National or a degree.
