Edexcel, which offers the BTEC suite of vocational qualifications, has announced that it is finalising details with the Department for Education & Skills (DfES) for the integration of BTEC HNDs into the Foundation Degree framework.

We are currently engaged with the DfES in discussing the best way for BTEC HNDs to be integrated into the growing Foundation Degree framework, and for the awarding body to work with the proposed “Foundation Degree Forward” network to ensure continuity of service for the HE and FE sectors.

BTEC HND qualifications are long established and well recognised in both HE and FE sectors, as well as by employers.  They provide an open-ended progression route to a number of top-up degree options, and provide evidence of work-related skills and knowledge for employers, on a portable, national basis.
