Our first successful candidates have already used their Edexcel management qualifications to gain guaranteed membership to the Institute of Management (IM).

TONY PHILIPS, who is a Team Manager within Social Services, achieved an NVQ 4 in Management as part of his BTEC Higher Diploma in the Management of Care Services at Sutton Management Centre.

With excellent support from his tutor, Kath Wood, Tony says that the course and Edexcel qualifications have enabled him to develop his management practice and led to his promotion at work. "Now the letters after my name (MIMgt) prove what I have done," he said, adding that being a member of "a professional institute like the IM is brilliant!"

SCOTT PELLS, who is a Technical Manager for a commercial catering equipment company, successfully completed his CMS course and was delighted that his qualification gave him access to all the benefits offered by guaranteed membership of the IM.

"With my technical background in engineering, and now my management qualification and IM membership, it has certainly been of great benefit both to me and my company," he said. He believed that the support offered by the IM's Management Information Centre "will also come in handy now that I have started on my DMS as well!" He too congratulated his college, Hastings College of Arts and Technology, for the way that they delivered the CMS: "The tutors are a real credit to the college."
